Investor Education Booklets

The Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) has partnered with the District of Columbia Public Library, the American Library Association (ALA), the Investor Protection Trust (IPT) and the editors of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine to provide a consumer education program targeting adults on the basics of investing at libraries throughout the District of Columbia.

The program includes seven booklets that cover keys to investing success, basics for investing in bonds and stock, and help for saving for college and retirement. Please follow the links below to learn more.
How Can I Afford Retirement?

Investor Education in Your Community® is a national program funded by a grant from IPT, a nonprofit organization dedicated to investor education, and the program is part of the ALA’s Campaign for America’s Libraries.  Investor Education in Your Community® materials may be picked-up at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, 901 G Street, NW, Washington, DC.  Check your local Public Broadcasting Stations to view the IPT’s national “MoneyTrack” series.
