Department of Insurance and Securities Regulation Announces Web Presence
Washington, D.C. -- The District of Columbia Department of Insurance and Securities Regulation (DISR), has launched its new web site enabling insurance consumers, insurance companies and insurance and securities agents and brokers access to information 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
To satisfy numerous requests for information about insurance licensing, how to file a complaint against an insurance carrier and how to purchase insurance products, DISR now provides that information and more on-line. The new DISR site is located on the World Wide Web at http://www.disr.washingtondc.gov. In the near future, consumers will be able to research insurance companies on-line and hyperlink directly to their web sites.
Commissioner Lawrence Mirel, stated: "The Internet gives DISR an efficient way to provide District consumers with quality tools to make informed insurance and financial decisions. The DISR web site is just the first step of our new public outreach initiative."
The DC Department of Insurance and Securities Regulation (DISR) has two missions, (1) to provide fair, efficient and fast regulatory supervision of the insurance and securities businesses for the protection of the people of the District of Columbia, and (2) to create conditions that will retain and attract national and international insurance and other financial businesses to the District. |
